Nearly four years after a battle with thyroid cancer robbed him of the ability to speak, iconic film critic Roger Ebert sounded like his former self Friday during a taping of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” the show’s producer said.

    In a while there will be robotic versions of celebrities with they original voices.

    I finally saw a video of Roger Ebert “speaking” with his new voice but I didn’t get to convinced. Maybe the tone of his voice sounds the same but the software still reads preety much like an old text-to-speech software.
